GEMSONA CONTEST!

To celebrate the opening of Doustravaganza (an archive for fanarts of my fanarts, lol) and to make up for both of my April Fool’s Jokes! (I’m not too gutted though,oreides deserved a break!), I’m holding a gemsona contest! 

Rules:

1. Draw a picture that includes at least one of my gemsonas.
2. Make sure one of the first five tags is dou hong

Prizes:

1. One season of Steven Universe (any season digital copy) + Laminate Set
2. Entire set of Steven Universe Laminates (2 winners)

To clarify the above, there are THREE winners, one grand prize winner and two smaller prize winners. All three will get a laminate set, but only the grand prize winner will get a season of Steven Universe. 

For this, you can draw ANYTHING, alternate outfits, a fusion, a location, a date…. Check out Gemsona-HQ or Gemsona-Week, there are some good prompts there. Feel free to throw in your gemsona if you’d like. ^^ Also, to reiterate, please tag it dou hong. You don’t tag it, I don’t see it. Deadline is May 30th! Winners will be announced a day or so after.

Steven Universe Crystal Gems: Part 2

More Gemsonas! Some of you who have been following me for a while have probably seen about half of these concepts already in my earlier gemsona post. Obviously, most of the ones that I’ve designed prior have changed. Since Opal and Peridot have popped up in the show, I’ve changed their names.

I think I honestly had a harder time picking the names of the gems rather than designing them, lol. If you are having trouble deciding what gemsonas you want to do, check out Gem Select or Gem Hut. Minerals by Name is also a good resource as well. There are hundreds of gems, semiprecious stones, minerals and rocks to choose from! Check out gemsona-hq too, a great archive of gemsonas on tumblr.

Steven Universe: Stevonnie Fusions

SU headcanon: Because Connie and Steven don’t have much experience fusing, everytime they combine, they form different fusions! As they get older, their “default” fusion becomes a more defined.

Steven Universe: Garnet/Pearl Gem Fusion

I was a wee bit surprised that the Pearl/Amethyst/Garnet fusion showed up before we got to see the Pearl and Garnet fused, but that means that I got the opportunity to design her! Since Sugilite was more based on Amethyst and Opal was visually more similar to Pearl, I wanted these concepts to gear more toward Garnet, Garnet!hips and mainly a skin tone that has a red hue.

I was going to name all gems the same name, but then I thought it would be fun to choose three seperate gems. I think Pietersite is the gem out of the three that veers way from the red palette that I was originally going for; the blue in her costume was originally pink, but as I was playing around with the hue, the blue just popped, so I kept it. It homages Pearl’s outfit, and Pietersite is a red/yellow/blue stone anyway, so I don’t think it veered too, too much. I just really like the name Pietersite ok? lol

I had originally only done one, Rhodonite, but then the others got fleshed out :) Which one do you guys like the best?
