54. 2 New Young Justice Fanart + YJ 1x10 "Targets" Review

Saw the latest episodes "Targets."

Loved it.

XD I also saw Green Lantern over the weekend. Didn't love it, I will have a review of the Green Lantern Movie probably as a journal sometime by tonight or tomorrow hopefully. Anyways!

My highlights below!

1. RED ARROW
Alright Red Arrow, fine, I'll admit that you're legit. I thought he was a little whiny and a little overbearing in the beginning, but now I'm beginning to see in a whole new light. XD And the fact that he was unmasked for a while was a very cool touch. Very handsome, although in some angles, I just thought he looked like a very angry Wally West (Flash in JL and JLU).

And the fact that he called YJ instead of the JL is telling. I liked his interaction with Aqualad.

2. CHESIRE
*flails histerically* Why does she look fabulous in every outfit?! Her teagirl outfit was amazing. XD I see also they happened to get a panty shot in there too.

3. ROY & KALDUR
The newer, more refined version of Dick and Wally. And handsomer too.

4. MISS MARTIAN CHEERLEADER DANCE
I actually busted laughing watching her cheer, and with the little bzzt at the end? XD classic. I also love that they didn't portray the cheerleaders as complete assholes. Cheerleaders are people too!

5. SUPERBOY FALLING DOWN THE BLEACHERS
I don't normally laugh at people's misfortunes... but this was an exception!

For some reason, I wasn't really taken with Lex or Ras. Dunno, maybe I need to see more episodes with them. I wish Ra's Al Ghul's voice actor (Oded Fehr) sounded more like what he sounded like in the Mummy or as Doctor Fate (JL, JLU) or Equinox (BATB). That would have been awesome.

This whole mole thing is... confusing to say the least. I guess what everyone's been saying is that Artemis is set up to be the mole... but I feel like it might be someone else.

Here's my guess: Aqualad

I know maybe it doesn't make sense... but maybe that's why it makes sense! XD It would totally be shocking, that's for sure! Since Red Arrow confided in Aqualad, now Aqualad (if he were the mole) would be a little more careful.

MOAR EPISODES PLZ.

52. Autonomous Vehicle Sketch Blitz

This was a 50 count sketch blitz for my Design Communications class taught by Raphael Zammit.

I'll post later about the car, but basically my project this quarter is to design an interior and exterior for an autonomous 2-3 seater city vehicle. Since my project prompt stated that in a couple of years, the safety laws have changed dramatically to the positive response of new electric autonomous vehicle. Basically what that means is that I can change drastically the aesthetics of a car, make it smaller, with more economic use of space.

What would a car look like if it didn't need a steering wheel, seat belts, an IP, or a dash? If it was proven that autonomous vehicles were consistently safe, what could I take out, and how could I make the interior more conducive to everyday life? Maybe work on the go?

Sounds like a challenge, but definitely a fun challenge. Cheers!

50. Automotive Interior Sketches

Interior sketches. I'm not used to doing these, but these were actually quite fun! Our assignment for our regular trans studio was to do a variety of conventional interiors (middle) concept interiors (last) and seats (top).

Interiors are definitely more complex than exteriors, which is another aspect of trans that I haven't been keeping up on.

49. Transformers Prime: Shockwave Concept

Now, onto the picture! I haven't been in the mood to draw much transformers stuffs lately, but after watching a few more Transformers Prime episodes, my inspiration suddenly came full force. I've been watching TFP and completely lovin' it, but I haven't been getting around drawing too much of it. I don't think I'll be the first to admit it, but I think the reason why I haven't really been jumping on it, is because of the designs. XD They're so complex, with so many parts to them you gotta worry about, like joints, perspective, the shading (OMG), etc. I was very intimidated.

But, I have decided to face that fear and just start with a very plain concept model, no action, no complicated posing. Shockwave is my favorite character in the transformers fandom, dunno why. Maybe because he's purple, unemotional, and scary? Anyways, keeping in spirit of the higher ranking decepticons having flight modes, his alt mode is a b2 Spirit Stealth Bomber. These TFP designs are interesting, just because they're so detailed, sometimes I have trouble placing what parts move when the robots switch to their altmodes. Like, with Soundwave, it's easy, just because it's so obvious that his arms are his wings, but his other parts, like his legs? That takes a little bit more observation. :3 I think I would have driven myself crazy if I thought about Shockwave and his transformation scheme too much.

I prefer Shockwave to have two arms instead of having one arm and a gun arm. But hey, I was thinking that maybe one of his arms could transform into a cannon or melee weapon, or even both! I'm a big fan of built in weapons, in the TFP universe, I think it makes perfect sense for one of Shockwave's arms to transform into a massive cannon if he wanted it to.

I'm not sure if this guy will show up, but I hope he does. Some other characters that I was thinking of trying are Perceptor, Skyfire, maybe First Aid. Pretty much anyone from the nerd herd. XD Blades, Blaster, and Blurr also pop up in my mind. As for the Decepticons, maybe Swindle, maybe Barricade.

46. Young Justice Sketch Blitz #1

Soo.... anyone catching up with the new Young Justice series on Cartoon Network? I am.

And I'm pretty much hooked. I admit, I don't watch too much TV, but apart from Psych/Transformer Animated, there hasn't been a show that I'll actually sit down and wait for the TV to show a new episode. From what I've seen so far, I like pretty much everyone that's shown up so far. :3 Speedy's a little dramatic, but other than that, I really like all the characterization that's flyin' about. Don't even get me started on the aesthetics.

GORGEOUS.

I haven't been drawing many personal things in a while, but I've started to get back into the groove of things. Anyone else currently living in the Rhode Island/New England area knows how crazy the weather's been. It's snowed heavily 4-5 times in three weeks. There's slush everywhere! Anyway back to the deviation, these are a variety of sketches of the main 5 characters with some extra little tidbits thrown in. It's like a YJ/TT/JSA bonanza! btw, I don't know what Aqualad looks like as a kid, but for some reason, I'm imagining his gills to be a lot poofier as a kid. I don't know if Black Manta ever will show up in the show, but if he does, I anticipate UBER UBER ANGST. I can't exactly tell you guys who my favorites are so far, probably Aqualad and Kid Flash. Miss Martian is pretty close behind them, and I'm sure the show's going to go crazy when Artemis shows up.

42. Sketch Blitz #2

Top image are some final directions for my city cars, and the bottom two are both luxury sedans, although one might be changed into a sport coupe, just depends on how we're feeling. :) I was going to try to get maybe a one-person personal commuter, however, none of the options were really jiving... ^^ Final concepts should be up soon.

41. Sketch Blitz #1

Our assignment for descom was to do 50 sketches of vehicles, and since I hadn't drawn cars in a bit, I think they turned out relatively well. I promise in my next sketch blitz that some of the cars will tilt. XD I seem to have a tough time enough as it is trying to get some semblance of proportion.

The top two pics are supposed to be energy efficient, small electric cars, with the top most sketch being more environmentally friendly with a smaller footprint. The middle pages of cars are to hold about 2-4 people while the top picture probably will only carry 1-2 people. The bottom picture is a luxury car compilation. We're supposed to pick three different vehicle types and these are the ones that I'll be refining in the next week or so.
